2023 MCC Piranhas IMPORTANT INFO!

Happy Spring, Piranha families!

The weather is starting to warm up, the sun is peeking out from behind the clouds of winter, and we are getting excited for summer swim team! Meetings have been happening since January to prepare for another fantastic season. There are a few things we wanted to make you aware of; most will be outlined below, but please also feel free to browse our newly updated website at mccpiranhas.swimtopia.com for all the information you could possibly need or want to get ready for this summer...

Registration is opening soon! It should be up and running by this weekend at the latest, so please keep checking the website--and remember that there are different forms for MCC members and non-members. Also, this year there will be a separate registration for our pre-swimmers, now called Fry School (named for the baby piranha). We are limiting Fry School registration to 16 in the morning and 8 in the evening, so that our coaches and junior coaches can give more organized, individual attention to our pre-swimmers and get them ready for swim team as soon as possible. Registration is first come, first served--so hurry!

Our team suit fitting, courtesy of Swimville USA, will be held on Wednesday, April 12th from 6:00-8:00pm on the 2nd floor of the MCC Clubhouse. If you want to be sure to have the team suit in time for our first meet on June 7th, we highly recommend that your swimmer come get fitted and order their suit that night. The other option is to go to Swimville USA (837 Bethel Rd, Columbus) before April 24th and get fitted there. After April 24th, there is no guarantee that your swimmer's team suit will be in hand by our first meet.

A few more dates/events we wanted to make you aware of:

  • Tues, May 30th: First day of swim practice (click HERE for practice schedule)
  • Thurs, June 1st: Season kick-off & mandatory Parents' Meeting (click HERE for more info)
  • Mon, June 5th: First day of Fry School (click HERE for more info)
  • Wed, June 7th: First meet is AWAY @ Huntington Hills (click HERE for meet schedule)

And last but not least, there is now an official MCC Piranhas Board! This change is to help spread the responsibility of running a 150+ member swim team among more parents than just Carol Koch-Worrell and Jenny Hyslop. We're so grateful for everything they've done over the years--we wouldn't be who we are without them!!--but it's time for more of us to step up and help out. If you'd like to join us, feel free to click HERE and let us know what you'd like to do :)

We hope this information has been helpful; please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Swim fast, Piranhas!
