Practice Policies

1. Swimmers need to be on deck ready to swim on time: With a full morning schedule, swimmers need to be ready to jump in when the clock strikes. Please help us stay on schedule by having your swimmers at the pool early and ready to go!

2. Swimmers must have proper equipment: All swimmers will be required to have goggles and GBW swim caps. Links on where to get items are under the "Suits & Gear" tab. Kickboards will be provided by the team.

3. Parents need to watch swimmers from a distance: Our coaches are highly trained and experienced swimmers. With all being lifeguards and CPR certified, they are more than capable of keeping your children safe. Our standards will be set high this year, with parents welcome to watch while giving our coaches space to do their job. We all want your child to progress as much as you do!

4. Make all swimmers feel welcome: Swimming is a competitive sport, but we want to have good competition. Encouraging your little Blue Wave to swim fast and to have fun is most important. Our coaches will NOT tolerate parents criticizing their own or other swimmers, or causing problems with other parents. We are here to have fun and support all swimmers.

If you have a question on your child's progress, please ask a coach in between practices--away from others--or you can send them an email at [email protected]. Our coaches are willing to answer your questions as long as you are courteous to them, your child and to others.

REMEMBER: Not all kids learn the same way! Some swimmers take longer than others and that's okay.
