Piranha Families, 

What a great summer it's been... and it's not over yet! Please read all the information below very thoroughly so you don't miss a thing this week:

MONDAY, 7/17: 

• AM: Breakfast of CHAMPions! Fill up on all the cereal and milk your heart could want...
• No PM practice. Coach Caroline wants everyone to get a good night's sleep!
• If you haven't RSVP'ed (or paid) for the banquet yet, please do it NOW. MCC needed those numbers last Thursday...

TUESDAY, 7/18: Tri-County Aquatic League CHAMPS MEET @ DRESDEN SWIM CENTER

• First, please familiarize yourself with the attached Parent Packet. It has tons of great information, including maps for parking and team set-up, facilities and concessions that will be available, etc.
• Warm-ups are MANDATORY! You only get 10 minutes in the pool--basically just enough time to familiarize yourself with the pool and get your backstroke count (Dresden's flags are different than ours)--so make sure you get there with plenty of time to park, set up camp, and be ready to jump in on time.
  • AM (11 & Up) Warm-ups: 6:40-6:50am, meet starts at 7:45am
  • PM (10 & Under) Warm-ups: 2:10-2:20pm, meet starts at 3:10pm
• Pack as though you are going to be gone on a long, hot trip... because you are, especially if you have swimmers in both meets! Our team area has no shade, so bring a canopy or tent if you have one, and we'll put them all together to keep everyone cool. Bring multiple towels, extra goggles and caps, and plenty of snacks and water. Concessions, food trucks, and Aquatic Outfitters will also be there for anything you need or forgot!
• Coach Caroline says "DO NOT MISS YOUR EVENTS!" Be listening carefully to the announcements about what's coming up, especially because 11 & Up swimmers will not have a bullpen to count on. Be responsible and help each other stay on track!
• One last thing about Champs: this is the culmination of a season's worth of work for everyone on all 12 TCAL teams. Be a good sport and represent the Piranhas well! Cheer for all swimmers, high-five people in your heat, and stay in the water until everyone has touched the wall. MCC has a great reputation in the league, so let's keep it that way!

WEDNESDAY, 7/19: Rain date for Champs (but it doesn't look like we'll need it, knock on wood!)

• Please share any pictures that you'd like to be included in the Banquet Slideshow with [email protected] on Google Photos. We've extended the deadline till today because we'd really love to see some pictures from Champs!

THURSDAY, 7/20: MCC End-of-Season Banquet and 1st Annual Relay Rally

• Festivities will begin at 5:30pm with dinner to quickly follow. Feel free to come a little early, socialize with friends you've made over the season and watch the slideshow. Champs gold caps, medals, and ribbons will be ready to be picked up as well.
• One of our amazing Piranha Parents, Nicole Garrison, has offered to take complimentary individual and team pictures for us! Each age group will be "released" from the banquet after their awards (beginning with the youngest), when they will head down to the pool deck and get their picture taken. For this reason, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that swimmers wear their team suit underneath their banquet attire. It will make the entire picture-taking process go much smoother, and then they'll be suited up for the Relay Rally!
• Another one of our awesome Piranha Parents, Kahea Milroy, will run some lawn games for swimmers while they wait for everyone to filter down to the pool deck. Once everyone's individual pictures are done, we will have a team picture and get the Relay Rally started!
• If you haven't already, please check out the sign-ups for the Relay Rally that are posted on the wall outside the snack bar at MCC. We've added an extra heat to every event so that everyone who wants to participate can. Thanks in advance to all who've volunteered their time and efforts to make this a great night!
